Here are all the dates and opportunities for you to get fit and healthy in August. I am away on holiday from 29th July until Wednesday 2nd August after which my diary is back to normal. It hardly seems possible that we are so far through the summer holidays already. If you have just got back and need to take action after your holiday then read on to see some great offers to get you started.

55+ Circuits

We have one more session at my house on Tuesday 8th August. The new block starts on Tuesday 22nd August and will run for 6 weeks ending on September 26th. The class is in Dunlop Church Hall 1.30-2.30pm and costs £30 for the block. Booking is essential as there are only 10 spaces in a class. Call 07814 788408 or email clare@fit4evermore.co.uk for more details.

fit4evermore Challenge series

This is my free fitness challenge series. Each month there is a different focus and I invite you to join me for 15 days of the challenge. Once you have joined the list you will receive details at the start of the month with full instructions. By the end of the year you will all have 12 different challenges that you can use as you wish to boost elements of your fitness at key stages. May started with Burpees, June was about Skipping, July was ‘Going the Distance’ and for August it is all about your Core Strength. If you haven’t yet signed up then you can do so here. I post my progress daily on the fit4evermore Facebook page and would love you to do the same. Accountability is great and makes sure you keep going. Here is the blog about ‘Going the Distance.’

Preventing Injury

It is essential as we get older to take good care of our bodies. The reality is that you don’t bounce back from training and stress in the same way that you did in your 20s or 30s. Unfortunately what tends to happen is that we ignore the warning signs and hope that niggles will disappear. Dealing with an injury and having to resort to pain management and visits to the Physio is no fun and an expensive business. Having a regular massage is a sound investment and works to relieve excess tension before it develops into something more sinister. Once you have felt the difference you will understand what I mean. I have clients who come each month and enjoy a 60 minute massage for the price of 45 minutes. They have been able to cut out the visits to the physio and the chiropractor and we are now managing to keep their injuries at bay. Worth a try? Please see my Prehab plan for more details.

Our next event

The focus of my training this month is on swimming 1 mile at the Great Scottish Swim. I really enjoy the open water swimming and would recommend giving it a go if you are looking for a new challenge. Chris Sifleet from ‘Swim4Miles’ runs coached sessions on a Sunday morning at Luss. You can find her on Facebook or on her website.

Do you want to start running?

For the last 3 years we have run the Santa Dash 5k in Glasgow and then gone for a team brunch afterwards. If you would like to run but have never quite managed to get started then please get in touch. I would love to see some new faces and get you round the 5k in early December…..

Make a Request

I try to offer training and advice that will work and appeal to my target audience. I find it useful from time to time to ask for some feedback from you all as to how you find the content and the packages that I offer. I would love to hear your comments and any suggestions that you have for future offers, blogs or challenges. Please email clare@fit4evermore.co.uk and I will do my best to accommodate your requests.

Wishing you all the best for a successful August and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
